Sometimes I take a photo and I am immediately disappointed with it. This disappointment usually leads me to let it languish on my hard drive for several months, sometimes forever.
Luckily I re-discovered this photo at just the right moment and was able to see the potential in it that I couldn’t see before. Due to recent events, I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about life and death, and it suddenly jumped out at me that this image symbolizes that perfectly. The deadwood contrasted with the lush, green grass that is very much alive.
